Why CityLeaf?
Weedmaps and Leafly are national platforms that don't understand New York City. They list unlicensed shops alongside licensed ones, putting consumers at risk.
CityLeaf is NYC-only and every dispensary is verified OCM-licensed. No unlicensed shops. No ads from gray-market operators. Just real, legal dispensaries reviewed by real New Yorkers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are cannabis dispensaries legal in New York?
Yes. New York legalized recreational cannabis for adults 21 and over through the Marihuana Regulation & Taxation Act (MRTA) in 2021. Cannabis dispensaries licensed by the New York Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) are fully legal throughout New York City. All dispensaries listed on CityLeaf are verified OCM-licensed.
How do I know if a dispensary is licensed in NYC?
Every dispensary on CityLeaf displays its OCM license number on its listing page. You can independently verify any license at cannabis.ny.gov/dispensary-location-verification. Unlicensed shops cannot display a valid OCM license number.
What is OCM and why does it matter?
OCM stands for the New York Office of Cannabis Management — the state agency that licenses, regulates, and oversees all legal cannabis businesses. Only OCM-licensed dispensaries are authorized to sell cannabis in New York. Buying from an unlicensed shop means purchasing unregulated, untested products with no legal consumer protections.
Is CityLeaf only for recreational cannabis?
No. CityLeaf lists both recreational and medical cannabis dispensaries. Medical dispensaries are marked clearly on each listing. New York's medical cannabis program is also overseen by OCM, and all medical dispensaries on CityLeaf are fully licensed.
